  4. When 9-11 occured I was my school in Missouri and all the teachers kept whispering to eachother and looking worried. Eventually they herded most of us into the library to watch the videos and news of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers. I remember they let us out early at school and I didn't really pay attention to the t.v. much, but mostly my parent's reactions.

  6. I can honestly say I do not remember a thing about it. Now that I look back, I have no clue how I missed such a huge event. I asked my Mom how she felt the day it happened and she said she was mostly in shock and surprised. She didn't ever imagine something like that happening.

  7. I remember I was in school when it happened so I didn't know about it until i got home, and since we were so young I remember thinking that it wasn't that big of a deal, when really it was.

  8. I remember that I was in school when this happened. I don't really remember a lot on that day other then the fact that my parents talked to me about it once I got home. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I remember that it was my mom and dads anniversary and my mom wanted to come pick me up from school.

  9. I didn't know what was going on until I got to the babysitter after school. My babysitter turned on the t.v. and I remember she was crying. I didn't know it was a big deal, but I saw the plane crash into the towers a lot on the t.v. My mom remembers finding out about it when she was teaching at her school.

  10. My first grade teacher sat in her chair and gathered us around and told us (vaguely) what had happened. After that, my dad and I went to the church to pray (but I didn't really know why at the time). I remember watching the video footage that night and my mom was crying; the kept showing the same footage over and over. She says she remembers that she was in her classroom and her principal came and told her in the hallway. At lunch they all watched the news in the teachers' lounge.

  11. I remember being confused because nobody really explained what happened. I was told there was a plane that crashed into a building. I went home that night and my dad explained to me what happened and I was confused because I thought something like that could never have happened. My parents remembered being at work and being called in by their bosses to hear the news, they were all devastated.

  12. I remember I was in school and Mrs. Lane was on the phone for a long time. She had a concerned, worried look on her face. After she had hung up, she turned on her small tv. I couldn't see what she was watching.I started to wonder what was going on. Then, she informed us that the World Trade Center had fallen. I didn't understand that it was a terrorist attack. I also remember my mom watching tv and she was crying or about to cry and I asked,"Why are people making a big deal about the twin towers falling?" and she told me that many people died. My mom remembers she was at AHS working and someone informed her that a plane had just hit one of the twin towers and she thought oh my gosh, all those people in the plane and in the building. Everyone first thought it was an accident. Rachel Van Erdewyk

  13. I don’t really remember that much about it besides that I was at the age when watching t.v. after school was something I looked forward to every day and I couldn’t that day because all the channels were talking about it. My mom at the time was working at the hospital in a patient’s room with a doctor. She remembers watching the whole thing happen on a t.v. and couldn’t believe what had happened.

  14. My mom was teaching at school when she found out what had happened and remembers having a hard time continuing on with her normal routine. My dad was driving in Minnesota when he heard that a plane had hit the world trade center on the radio so he turned the tv in his vehicle on and then saw the second plane hit the tower. I don't have much memory of the event but I do remember my teaching telling our class what had happened and I wasn't very concerned because I had never heard of the world trade center before and didn't realize how serious the what had happened was.

  15. I really don't remember much about the 9/11 attacks. The only thing that I remember is catching glimpses of the news footage before my parents sent me away. I don't think they wanted me watching because I was just in first grade. My mom says that she was sad, upset, and insecure. She remembers watching the news and having a hard time accepting that it was real. ~Ann Steffen

  16. I don't remember a whole lot, but I remember the teacher stopping during class to hear about what happened. Both my parents saw it on T.V. They both saw the second plane hit when it was live, and I remember seeing repeated videos over it on T.V. later that night.

  17. My mom had to take a sick day to take care of my little brother on September 11th. She said she saw the second plane hit the tower on the news. I personally don't really remember anything except for coming home and watching it with my mom on the news.

  19. I remember being in my first grade classroom at kuemper. there was an announcement over the PA about breaking news and as soon as my teacher heard that, she pulled the internet up and there was a video of it we all watched. my dad remembers being in minnisota on a fishing trip and he hadn't heard it until about 5 that afternoon at the lodge. he felt sick, helpless, angered, shocked...asking him this i could hear the pain in his voice though he never showed he was pained.

I remember being kinda young and ignorant from everything then still, i had already got home from school, it was 1.00 pm or something. i was doing my homework in our living room and my dad came home. i was surprised him to be there cause he usually wont come until 7pm. he turned the tv on and explained what had happen. i realized it was something big cause my dad was really worried. so it reached all the way to Finland real quick too.

  23. I don't remember much. Most of what I remember is from September 12 and being disappointed that no sports had taken place. My mom remembers hearing it on the radio and realizing that we were under attack.

I remember that it was in 2 or 3 grade because my teacher Mrs. Shields turned on the TV and watched it in class. I also remember when I got home from school, it was on every TV channel.

  25. I don't really remember that day too well. I vaguely remember my teacher sitting at her desk with a worried look, and she told the class that we weren't allowed to watch tv. When I got home from school, I told my mom I thought it was stupid that we weren't allowed to watch tv that day, and she explained to me what had happened. It didn't really affect me too deeply since I was just a little kid. I went outside to play right after my mom explained. Now, she says that her reaction was "stunned silence."

  26. I don't remember all that much about 9/11 because I was way young, but what I do remember is my parents and I stayed at my grandmas house with a lot of my family. I also remember being told about it later that day about what was happening and I didn't know what was going on, I didn't know what terrorist attacks were so I didn't think much of it.
